At Fine Cut Media, we’ve always been passionate about storytelling that goes beyond the surface. One of our favorite passion projects was sparked by the idea of creating marketing content that not only highlights incredible craftsmanship but also gives a glimpse into who we are—through the stories of others. It’s about celebrating the artistry, dedication, and heart that drive people to create, and we couldn’t think of a better subject to launch this vision than Black Dog Timberworks.

Enter Rusty Partridge, the founder of Black Dog Timberworks. We knew we’d found the perfect match from the moment we connected with him. His meticulous attention to detail, the undeniable visual beauty of his timber frame structures, and his unwavering commitment to his craft and community made him a natural choice.

Filming with Rusty was nothing short of inspiring. We stood in awe as we watched a house raising unfold against the backdrop of New England’s stunning autumn colors. We got up close (and a little too personal—hello, sawdust!) while transforming rugged timbers into elegant frames in his workshop. Every step of the journey was a testament to the artistry and devotion that define Black Dog Timberworks.

Shooting in Norway, Maine, was an adventure in itself, but this project wasn’t just about capturing beautiful visuals. It was about learning, connecting, and sharing a story that resonates. And yes, we walked away with a newfound respect for sawdust-proofing our gear!

We’re beyond excited to introduce Black Dog Timberworks as the first feature in our artist showcase series. It’s a celebration of craftsmanship, community, and the stories that inspire us to do what we do. We hope it inspires you, too.
